Group one: Coming Out 101 (Later in Life Identity Shifts)

Why identity emergence and transformation can happen later in life. What does knowing, performative peace, and authentic alignment of self look like?

Internal Landscape

How do internalized homophobia and heteronormativity make an impact on out identity and how do we then give ourselves permission to reclaim inner authority?

Week 

Disclosure and Relationships

How do co-existing truths exist? Together we will explore pacing and disclosure with care for others, self-protection,  and honesty.

60 Minutes 

Coming out later in life often encompasses conflict of responsibilities, complex grief and loss and an intense desire to discover your authentic self - all while facing the excitement and anxiety of finding community as a lesbian. This group offers connection and a place to be heard and understood.  Welcome.

Desire, Embodiment, and Sexuality 

What are somatic cues for truth and queer awakening? Together we will explore how attraction can both shift and be denied, what you truly desire and how you know.

Practical Realities

Practical considerations when shifting identity and/or relationship structures - separation or staying in place, reducing isolation, building a queer community and establishing queer identity.

Integration and Affirmation

Reflections on what has shifted - what feels clearer, softer, or more possible? Exploration of next steps.

Understanding why sexuality questions emerge inside straight relationships , and what it means - and doesn't.

Desire Indentity and Conditioning

Understanding the emotional weight of compulsory heterosexuality, heteronormativity. Together we will your somatic cues and internalized narratives.

Ethics, Honesty, and Safety

Understanding affairs, secrecy, self protection and shame while exploring identity misalignment. Together we will explore pacing and navigation of disclosure with care.

Women who are questioning their sexuality while partnered in a long-term straight relationship often hold their knowing in silence. This unique process is layered with partner and family loyalty combined with intense grief and longing.

Options Mapping 

Understanding values based decision making and safety (spiritual, physical, psychological and emotional etc.) while exploring next steps without pressure.

Grief, Guilt, and Self-Compassion

Understanding guilt as a sign of care and practices for self compassion and emotional regulation.

Integration and Affirmation

Reflection on what has shifted - what feels clearer, softer, or more possible? Exploration of personalized clarity plans and next steps.

Note: participants in this group may also consider participation in the 'coming out' becoming circle as well. While there may be some overlap in content the purpose of this circle is specifically to explore the additional layers of coming out later in life that come with the navigation within the context of  a long term straight relationship.
